Many rheumatology services still rely on fixed-interval clinic appointments rather than dynamically tailored care. Many patients may be in remission (or in flare) when seen, meaning the care model is inefficient and reactive. Clinicians need better tools to capture longitudinal disease activity, track flares, adjust treatment in real time and optimise use of biologics and other high-cost therapies. For research and charities, there’s an opportunity to collect rich patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), link with clinical data and support new care models, audits and service evaluations.
